Polymer Science has many Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSAs) that is suitable for use in automotive applications. Because of the evolving automotive industry, more focus has been placed on utilizing PSA for bonding rather than mechanical methods of fastening. PSAs offer the automotive industry a more cost effective bonding alternative with the advent of newer, stronger, more technologically advanced adhesive products.
Polymer Science, Inc. PSAs are used in many places throughout the automotive industry. PSAs have found their place in the bonding of carpet and cloth interiors to metallic and molded thermoplastic components. PSAs have found utility as laminated to gaskets, soft trim, mirrors and interior components. Based upon the adhesive used, properties can vary including flexibility, adhesive strength, solvent resistance and removability.
Polymer Science manufactures custom coatings that can be used in harsh environmental conditions such as temperature extremes and solvent contact. Laser Etchable coatings provide a method of permanently identifying components found in non-ideal locations throughout the automotive product.
Converting and prototyping is available to assist in the transition from development to production. Specialty packaging, bar coding, EDI, ASN and other customer specific services are available.
